This act of supreme sacrifice turned his throat blue, earning him the name <em>Neelkanth<\/em>, the blue-throated one. This selfless act is observed and worshipped during Shravan, a month dedicated to honoring Shiva&#8217;s compassion and protection. And that&#8217;s why we say, &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/yzeBsmf-edQ\" title=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HAR HAR MAHADEV<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;. <em>&#8216;HAR&#8217;<\/em> means to &#8211; take away.
