Maha Bhagyoday Anusthan

What is Bhagyoday?

As per Vedic astrology the rise of fortune is Bhagyoday. It is closely linked the 9th, 10th and the 11th houses in a horoscope. Vedic Astrology states that, the birth chart is a blueprint of the sky at the moment of your birth. It is a map of information related with the past lives of the native, the Karmas the individual performed, his /her destiny in the present life and how certain planets and houses in a horoscope affect our destiny. The 9th house and its ruling planet, the 10th house and its ruling planet and the 11th house and its ruling planet are three of the most important houses that affect a person. The 12 Houses in a Kundli are a roadmap of your past, present and future. As the planets in the sky move across these houses, all sorts of events are triggered in your life - both tangible and emotional.

Makarsankranti Aditya Aradhana

Uttarayan or Makarsankranti is celebrated to honour Aditya, Surya or the Sun and this day is celebrated all over India. It is because of Surya's light, energy and warmth that life exists on earth. Makar Sankranti involves the movement of the Sun from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere, from the Tropic of Capricorn to the Tropic of Cancer. It is also known as the harvest festival. To the Hindus, the Sun stands for knowledge, spiritual light and wisdom. Makarsankranti signifies that we should turn away from the darkness of delusion in which we live and begin to joyously let the light within us glow brightly. Thus we should grow in the terms of purity, wisdom and knowledge just as the Sun. A belief associated with the holy dip is that Lord Vishnu as Surya Narayan himself comes down and takes a dip in the holy site of Triveni. Therefore anyone who bathes there is blessed with his grace.
