Ekadashi day is the 11th day of every lunar fortnight as per Vedic Luni/Solar calendar. It occurs twice in a month, once during the Shukla Paksha and the Krishna Paksha respectively. Ekadashi is said to be a very auspicious day and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Fasting on this day is said to accrue health, wealth and happiness as well as peace and harmony in the family.
