We bow down to Pashupatinath the destroyer of animal instincts and the protector of humanity.
This is a unique and powerful form of Lord Shiva. Pashu refers to all living creatures but it also refers to the animalistic nature or baser instincts of human beings. As Pashupatinath; Lord Is the God of all creatures. Worshiping him establishes a deep connection to all forms of creation and also helps humans evolve to higher levels of spiritual evolution. The 15 Mukhi Rudraksha is similar in its traits to the 14 Mukhi Rudraksha. It has all the divine powers of the Devamani with additional powers that help in procurement of wealth with good fortune. It is a divine bead of good luck. It enhances visualisation skills, aids decision making and attracts good prospects to those who wear this lucky talisman. Sanskrit texts invoke the power of Lord Pashupatinath by these lines from the popular Shiva Stotram!
As per texts, Wearing the 15 Mukhi Rudraksha and chanting this Gayatri removes obstacles, afflictions and blesses with luck and success. The 15 Mukhi Rudraksha controls the malefic effects of planet Jupiter. The presiding deity Lord Pashupatinath grants all the benefits that the Devamani / 14 Mukhi also bestows.
The wearer is gifted with supreme knowledge and wisdom, thereby inducing super consciousness. The ability to be divine by granting forgiveness is experienced by the wearer. Thus by forgiving and letting go the person becomes more compassionate. Kindness and generosity helps the individual connect with complete creation. Thus the wearer’s mind, body and soul exist in an optimum state of balance thereby giving the wearer complete satisfaction that leads to happiness.
Legend has various stories about how this form of Lord Shiva originated. Lord Shiva along with Goddess Parvati decided to transform themselves into an antelope / deer. They roamed around in the forests of Nepal along the Bhagmati River. Very soon the Devatas began their search for them. When they traced Mahadev and his divine consort they requested them to return to their original forms. Since the Lord himself had changed into an animal and coexisted with other living beings he was given the name of Pashupatinath. The Sanskrit scriptures address Lord Shiva as Sarva Pakshi Mriga Deepaaya Namah!
As Pashupatinath he can provide life to humans and animals at will. He can also exercise his free will to withdraw the same. As Pashupatinath his form is very powerful to behold. His hands wield the battle axe known as Parashu, drum known as Damru, stick called as Danda, bow and arrow, spear, sling, noose and a club known as a Khatwang. He wears the Rudraksha Mala, carries a skull, a lotus flower, a discus and a sword. The temple of Pashupatinath in Nepal venerates and eulogizes this beautiful form of Lord Shiva that is impartial in his acceptance of all living creatures. One of his most powerful weapons the Pashupataastra has been mentioned in scriptures for its supernatural power to destroy evil.
