Srimad Bhagwat Puran is one of the revered texts of Sanatan Dharma and dedicated to Shri Vishnu. It narrates a wide range of topics and is regarded as essence of all Vedas and Upanishads. Srimad Bhagwat Puran composed in Sanskrit is dedicated to Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. Srimad Bhagwat Puran asserts that the inner and outer form of Lord Krishna is akin to the Vedas and is capable of rescuing one from this material world veiled in Maya and guides one towards final emancipation. Shrimad Bhagwat provides that light which enables one to experience the wonderful freedom of liberation. Shrimad Bhagwat expresses this philosophy through the narration of the life stories of 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Amongst these, the tenth volume of the Shrimad Bhagwat narrates in infinite detail, the story of Lord Krishna. The 18000 verses of Srimad Bhagwat Puran were first narrated to King Parikshit by Sri Suka Dev. It is said that the Srimad Bhagwatam is the very essence of all the Vedanta texts.

This is a recitation of 18000 verses of Srimad Bhagwat Katha in 7 days for getting the blessings of Lord Krishna. It is said to bless the devotees with a pure soul and peaceful heart as well as a long life. The devotee is said to get rid of miseries of life by blessings of Sri Vishnu and is supposed to be a fortunate one for attaining Moksha.
