Shrimad Bhagwad Gita is considered the mantra of living life, it has been showing the right path to man for centuries. That’s why it is considered the most sacred scripture in Hinduism.
Gita Jayanti is observed on the 11th day (Ekadashi Tithi) of the Shukla Paksha Margashirsha month. On this day, devotees celebrate the birth anniversary of the holy Srimad Bhagavad Gita. According to religious belief, Lord Krishna preached the Gita to Arjuna on the day before the Mahabharata war.
Why do we celebrate Gita Jayanti?
It is said that the birth anniversary of no holy book is celebrated in the world. But the birth anniversary of the Shrimad Bhagwat Gita is celebrated. The reason given behind this is that other texts have been compiled by humans but Shrimad Bhagwat Gita was born from the mouth of Lord Shri Krishna himself.
Importance of Srimad Bhagavad Gita
Shrimad Bhagwat Gita is the essence of life, by reading and applying it in our life, we get the right path in Kalyug. Gita guides the entire humanity. The basis of human race is hidden in the verses of Gita. Lord Shri Krishna himself gave the detail of what is karma for man and what is his religion so that personality can develop. The purpose of celebrating Gita Jayanti is to keep the importance of Geeta awake in human beings.
What to do on Geeta Jayanti?
It is believed that on this day whoever worships the Gita and Lord Vishnu methodically and gives alms, gets freedom from all kinds of sins and gets auspicious results. Worshiping Lord Shri Vishnu on the day of Gita Jayanti gives spiritual peace and knowledge and paves the way to salvation (Moksha). That’s why Geeta Jayanti is also celebrated as Mokshada Ekadashi.
Get blessings of Lord Vishnu with 10 Mukhi Rudraksha
As stated above, the day of Gita Jayanti is very auspicious to seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Wearing Ten Mukhi Rudraksha on this day is considered equally auspicious.
The 10 Mukhi Rudraksha is blessed by Lord Vishnu. Regarding 10 Mukhi Rudraksha, it has also been said in Shrimad Devi Bhagavatam that-
।। ग्रहाश्च पिशाचाश्च वेताल ब्रह्मराक्षासा: पन्नगाश्चोशाम्यन्ति दशवक्त्रस्य धारणात् ।।
That is, Malefic and malevolent forces do not disturb the person if he is wearing a 10 Mukhi Rudraksha. Thus he can focus on his spiritual practices, unhindered.
